2007 Merlot

2007 Merlot

Price: $20.00 (SOLD OUT)

Appellation: Wahluke Slope, Columbia Valley, Washington State

Varietals: 100% Merlot

Vineyard: StoneTree Vineyard

Winemaker Comments: Stone vineyard is consistently the first fruit we pick every year. This very warm site in the Wahluke Slope produces some of the finest grapes in the Columbia Valley. The grapes underwent a whole- berry fermentation in one ton open top fermenters, and were lightly pressed into one and two year old French oak barrels. The wine was aged for 22 months prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes: StoneTree vineyard gives us Merlot with bright fruit, solid tannins, and great acidity. A touch of fennel with bright black cherry leads into a lively burst of red raspberry. This well balanced wine finishes with soft notes of cedar, violet, and spice. A classic Washington State Merlot, enjoyable on its own and with a wide array of food.

Aging: Aged 22 months in 100% French oak barrels. The wine was racked from barrel every 4 months

2006 Syrah

2006 Syrah

Price: $32.00 (SOLD OUT)

Appellation: Yakima Valley, Columbia Valley, Washington State

Varietals: 98% Syrah, 2% Viognier

Vineyard: Dineen Yineyard

Winemaker Comments: 100% Dineen Vineyard fruit. Dineen Vineyard is located in the upper Yakima Valley, and has become well known for producing wines with great color and beautiful flavors, especially for such a new vineyard site (planted in 2001). The highly sought after fruit from this vineyard is extremely low yielding, the Syrah is often less than 1.25 tons/ acre. The cooler climate of the Yakima Valley allows Dineen fruit to hang several weeks longer than most other Washington vineyard sites.

Tasting Notes: A hedonistic wine, bursting with flavors of pomegranate and cherries, along with roasted coffee, cedar, and leather on the finish. Our Syrah was co-fermented with 2% Viognier to create this beautiful vintage. A well rounded wine, with ripe fruit flavors and bright acidity. Aged in 70% new French Oak for 21 months.

Aging: Aged 22 months in 100% new French oak barrels. The wine was racked from barrel every 4 months.
