2009 Malbec

2009 Malbec

Price: $30.00

Appellation: Horse Heaven Hills, Washington State

Varietals: 100% Malbec

Vineyard: Andrews Ranch

Winemaker Comments: Andrews Ranch Malbec was hand harvested in mid October under ideal conditions. The berries were gently de-stemmed (without crushing)directly into one ton open top fermentors. Saignee was per- formed, and 20% of the juice was immediatley pulled from the must. Fermentation lasted 21 days before being lightly pressed into once used French oak barrels. The wine was racked by gravity flow every 6 months, and was bottled in August 20010, without fining or filtration.

Tasting Notes: The inky purple 2009 Malbec Andrews Ranch offers up an alluring bouquet of cedar, incense, white pepper, meat, black cherry, and blueberry compote. Opulent on the palate with layers of succulent fruit, this pleasure-bent offering can be enjoyed now and over the next 6-8 years. It is another example of how bright Malbec's future is in eastern Washington - Jay Miller, The Wine Advocate

Aging: Aged 22 months in two year old French oak barrels.

2009 Merlot

2009 Merlot

Price: $28.00

Appellation: Columbia Valley, Washington State

Varietals: 100% Merlot

Vineyard: Boushey Vineyard and StoneTree Vineyard

Winemaker Comments: Stonetree vineyard is consistently the first fruit we pick every year. This very warm site in the Wahluke Slope produces some of the finest grapes in the Columbia Valley. The grapes underwent a whole- berry fermentation in one ton open top fermenters, and were lightly pressed into one and two year old French oak barrels. The wine was aged for 22 months prior to bottling.

Tasting Notes: A touch of fennel with bright black cherry leads into a lively burst of red raspberry. This well balanced wine finishes with soft notes of cedar, violet, and spice. A classic Washington State Merlot, enjoyable on its own and with a wide array of food.

Aging: Aged 22 months in 100% French oak barrels. The wine was racked from barrel every 4 months

2008 Syrah

2008 Syrah

Price: $30.00

Appellation: Columbia Valley, Washington State

Varietals: 97% Syrah, 3% Viognier

Vineyard: 70% StoneTree Vineyard, 30% Andrews Ranch Vineyard

Winemaker Comments: StoneTree Vineyard in Wahluke Slope provides us with Syrah that is typically higher in acid with more red fruit and spice notes while Andrews Ranch in the Horse Heaven Hills offers us a bigger, more concentrated style with ripe black fruits. Andrews Ranch also gives us the 3% Viognier which we co-ferment to add aromatics and color enhancement. Blending the two styles allows us to achieve greater complexity and balance.

Tasting Notes: This deep purple wine features aromatics of purple flowers, bacon fat, asian spices and cocoa. On the palate there are layers of roasted meat, blueberries and dried herbs. A savory style with soft, con- centrated tannins and an exceptionally long finish this wine can be enjoyed by itself or with a wide variety of full bodied dishes.

Aging: Aged 22 months in 100% French oak barrels. The wine was racked from barrel every 4 months.

2008 Cabernet Sauvignon

Price: $35.00

Appellation: Columbia Valley, Washington State

Varietals: 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot

Vineyard: 100% Andrews Ranch Vineyard

Winemaker Comments: Andrews Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot were hand harvested in the early morning un- der perfect conditions. The berries were gently de-stemmed (without crushing)directly into one ton open top fermentors. Fermentation lasted 18 days before being lightly pressed into once used French oak barrels. The wine was racked by gravity flow every 4 months, and was bottled in August 20010, without fining or filtration.

Tasting Notes: A saturated deep ruby color that is enhanced by the addition of the Petit Verdot. The rich aromatics are reminiscent of cassis, violets, cedar and espresso. On the palate the wine is opulent and mouth coating with flavors of vanilla, spice, and ripe blackberries. The bright acidity and smooth tannins lead into a long and complex finish. This is a powerful wine that can be enjoyed now or cellared for the next decade.
